Where is the Broadmoor Resort?
Framed by the stunning landscape of the majestic Cheyenne Mountain towering in the background, the historic Broadmoor Resort, a Luxury 5-Star Hotel, brings the wild west alive with a level of sophistication and charm reminiscent of European design, with a uniquely American twist only possible in Colorado. Located only minutes from the Colorado Springs Airport, with shuttles, Uber, and Lyft services available.
As part of our 2022 #OpenForBusiness small business awareness campaign, we were invited to spend a night at this gorgeous resort. Arriving in town in our helicopter, we were treated to a magnificent view very few people are privileged to experience. After landing at the Colorado Springs Airport, it was only a short drive of less than 15 minutes, and we arrived at the gates.
When Was the Broadmoor Built?
The architecture and color of the hotel are in the Mediterranean Revival style, with the pink stucco of its façade blending into the Pikes Peak area landscape. The main buildings are connected on a circular path around a lake. The original hotel building, now referred to as Broadmoor Main, was built in 1918. The others constructed between 1961 and 2001-are Broadmoor South, Broadmoor West, Lakeside Suites, and West Tower.
Along with eighteen restaurants within the resort complex, even the most discerning palate will find something to their liking. The Broadmoor has 784 rooms. Many of the Broadmoor South rooms have balconies, and some have fireplaces. The Penrose Room restaurant is located on the top of the nine-story building.
After settling into our rooms after a long helicopter flight, we explored the grounds with Public Relations and Communications Manager Krista. She gave us a private tour of the resort, sharing some of the area's unique history.
What Are the Best Rooms at the Broadmoor?
The Broadmoor's West Premier rooms feature modern furnishings blended seamlessly with luxurious details. These rooms are considered some of our most desirable accommodations with exceptional views of the resort's lake or the picturesque Rocky Mountains. One king or two queen beds are available. They are located in the Broadmoor West building complex.
When most people think of luxury hotel rooms, they often imagine a spacious and opulent space with extravagant furnishings and amenities. While this may be the case at some luxury resorts, the rooms at the Broadmoor Resort are more understated and elegant. My room was comfortable and well-appointed, with a king-sized bed, sitting area, and desk. The bathroom had a large shower and spa tub. The views of Cheyenne Mountain from my window were simply stunning.
The Broadmoor Resort offers guests a wide variety of room types and sizes to choose from, so you're sure to find one that fits your needs. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or a family vacation, they have something for everyone!
Each building throughout the resort has it's own unique opulence and charm. The lobby of the Broadmoor Resort is a grand and imposing space, with high ceilings, marble floors, and extravagant chandeliers. The walls are adorned with beautiful artwork, and the furniture is elegant and comfortable. It's the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the resort or to meet friends for a drink before dinner.
Around the Resort
The resort boasts an incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. Krista gave us a comprehensive tour of the property and was always on hand to answer any questions we had. She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the resort, and she made sure that we had a wonderful experience during our stay.
The rest of the staff was equally friendly and welcoming, always going out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. It was clear that they take pride in providing excellent customer service.
The next morning we took the helicopter and flew past the resort.
We had the opportunity to explore the resort by helicopter, and the views of Cheyenne Mountain and Pikes Peak were simply stunning. It was a truly unique experience to fly so close to these majestic mountains and to see them from a different perspective.
